It's official now- one of our children got stitches yesterday. We were thinking it would have been Jake (we love you buddy) because he's so active has no fear. Unfortunately little Emily is the same way so we should have expected it. Yes, our baby Emily who just celebrated her 2nd birthday was climbing from the couch to the coffee table and Robyn was trying to move it so she and Jake could play Hullabaloo. Well she was not totally on the couch and wham she hit her head right onto the edge of the table. Robyn had just gotten out of the shower and she was checking on them and everything was fine until she decided to move the table for them to make more room to play. Robyn took her into the bathroom and it wasn't until Emmy pulled away that Robyn noticed blood all over her shoulder and running down her back. She was able to stop the bleeding and throw on some clothes all while calling the doctor, Spencer, and having to cancel a visiting teaching appointment. Robyn took Jake and Emily to the doctor and Jake was a bit anxious, as was mom and Emmy, so we called Grandma Christie. She came right over and helped with the waiting and the actual stitching process. Since Emily would not hold still we had her strapped down with just her head and little feet sticking out. She did not like that at all! She was a real trooper telling the nurse holding her head still and Dr. Tsai to go away, leave me alone, and she even tried counting. She ended up with six stitches over her right eye almost into her eyebrow. We hope it will blend in and not show too much. As soon as we got home from the doctor she was jumping around and ready for lunch and her nap. I was exhausted after all that and was grateful Grandma Christie had taken Jake and was planning on picking up Avery from school and brought dinner as well. Through all this wouldn't you know that Spencer had just started his tour at the station and had a 24 hour shift Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday; and Wednesday and Friday he is also working all day.
